The Netherlands and Amsterdam/Rotterdam attractive for foreign investments

08/30/18

The Netherlands and the urban region Amsterdam/Rotterdam remain attractive for foreign investments. The yearly IBM Global Location Trends Report rankings put Amsterdam/Rotterdam in 3rd most attractive urban region in Europe and 4th globally, while the Netherlands occupies 6th spot in the global country ranking. The report is constructed based on the average value of investment projects in relation to the volume of new jobs created by these projects.

Investment decisions worldwide are affected by the rapid rise and development of new digital technologies and by uncertainties around existing and future trade agreements. Ongoing Brexit negotiations are another factor creating uncertainty around investment decisions. These and other factors caused a drop in the total volume of foreign investments in 2017.
