Transparent
The general public may view this all as kind of a fairy tale and be a little sceptic. That is one of the reasons why the Floating Farm will not only be a production centre for dairy, but also have an important educative function. “So many people don’t know where their food comes from, where it’s grown or bred. This starts at an early age. The Floating Farm will be transparent, it will show how milk is produced. You can see the cows on the pontoon, the robots collecting the manure and bringing fodder to the cows.” The transparency Peter mentions is also meant literally, because the transparent walls will enable everyone to see what’s going on. Furthermore, the Floating Farm will also organise tours for school groups, children and interested adults.
