Van Nelle Fabriek (former tobacco factory)
Originally a tobacco factory and regarded as a pinnacle of Dutch industrial heritage, the Van Nelle Factory secured its position as a UNESCO World Heritage site in June 2014. Built between 1927 and 1930, this architectural gem exemplifies the functionalist ‘Nieuwe Bouwen’ (New Construction) movement. The design by Brinkman & van der Vlugt maximizes natural light, air, and space – showcasing a visionary approach.
The factory underwent a renovation from 2002 until 2024. Today, it serves as a vibrant hub for media and design enterprises, offering twelve rooms ideal for meetings, conferences, symposiums and business events. The Van Nelle Factory not only maintains its historical significance but also provides a contemporary and dynamic backdrop for gatherings of up to 7,000 attendees – a perfect blend of the past with the present.
