10/28/21

On November 3, the Netherlands’ national day, the official opening of the Netherlands Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai took place. The pavilion was opened by The King & Queen of the Netherlands  together with the minister of Trade and Development Cooperation Tom de Bruijn and Ingrid Thijssen president of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers. The Dutch participation at the Expo is set to showcase the Dutch acceleration in the Water, Energy and Food sectors. This year’s theme “Uniting Water, Energy and Food” is designed to combine and offer sustainable and innovative circular climate approaches.

The Netherlands is represented by over 50 different organizations, half of which are from the greater Rotterdam region, which all joined this mission focused on sustainable urban development. “Our companies have a lot to offer, and Expo – and the Netherlands Pavilion – offers them a fantastic podium to showcase themselves to the Gulf region and the rest of the world. The Dutch government is keen to help them capitalise on this opportunity. “ says minister Tom de Bruijn. The Mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, has also joined the mission as an Expo Champion and will visit the Pavilion together with regional Rotterdam organizations.
