International street art festival POW! WOW! coming to Rotterdam

The International street art festival POW! WOW! is coming to the Merwe-Vierhavens area in Rotterdam on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September. During this festival visitors can experience live painting by street artists. In addition to these performances, there will be live music, a series of vans is painted 'live' and visitors can enjoy a special exhibition in the HAKA building.
Popular festival
POW! WOW! started in the outskirts of Hawaii, transforming a grey suburb into a popular open air gallery. After several successful editions on the island, the festival spread to locations in Los Angeles, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. Through this expansion, the festival quickly became a household name that all street artists wish to be a part of.
World famous street art artists
As part of Pow! Wow! Rotterdam, a guided bicycle tour will be available for free the entire weekend, starting at the Keilewerf. During the bike tour participants will see how world-famous artists like Snikarts, Zepha, Bier & Brood, Ready2Rumble and Mr. June are transforming the neighbourhood through their mural paintings. Over the coming weeks, many participating artists and the musical programming will be announced.
Street Art Awards Benelux 2018
The POW! WOW! Rotterdam festivities will conclude with the Street Art Awards Benelux 2018. This year, the event formerly known as the Dutch Street Art Awards are upscaling beyond the Dutch borders for the first time, resulting in the Street Art Awards Benelux. On Sunday night September 16, the best street artists, street art events and street art photographers will all gather at Theater Rotterdam, to find out who will take home the glorious prize.
