About De Rotterdam Tours
With a tour by De Rotterdam Tours, you will learn everything there is to know about the Markthal. In a 1-hour tour, a professional guide will tell you all about the historic location of food mecca Markthal, the design of the building, the concept and the construction of the huge glass facades. Be surprised with fun facts and trivia you haven’t heard before. You will get an exclusive look behind the scenes at places like the underground logistics (cooling) centre. The tour continues along the Time staircase; a display of historical artefacts found during the excavations before construction. The guide will take you to the gallery to fully experience the unique ceiling artwork. During a ‘meet & taste’, one of the entrepreneurs will be happy to tell you what it is like to work in the Markthal, and you will, of course, get a taste of the delicious products that are sold there (cheese, chocolate, tea, juice, etc).
