About Chabot Museum

Surrounded by museum giants, like a white gem nestled in a green oasis, the Chabot Museum beckons. The Chabot Museum is a cosy museum offering a varied and international programme of exhibitions in one of Rotterdam’s most beautiful villas. The museum accommodates one of the most important collections of artworks by Dutch expressionist painter and sculptor Henk Chabot (1894-1949). A painter of farmers and gardeners, of Dutch landscapes and, during the war, of refugees and hideouts, Chabot fills a niche all of his own within the realm of modern Dutch art. The light, open spaces of the museum do full justice to the visual art of Chabot and his (contemporary) peers. Discover the tranquil ambience of the monumental white 1938 villa – together with the Huis Sonneveld, the Van Nelle Factory and the Feijenoord Stadium a triumph of Neues Bauen constructivism – and its architecture, history and varying visual art exhibitions.
Should you have a celebration or be looking for a quiet presentation space for small groups, the Chabot Museum is happy to inform you about the possibilities of making more out of your visit to the museum. The options available include everything from a tour with coffee and sandwiches to a full ‘walking dinner’. The museum is happy to help you organise personalised arrangements for your reception in the cosy ‘living room’ atmosphere of this listed historical building in the heart of the city.
