Rotterdam Partners appoints 10 new Knowledge Ambassadors 2017

12/13/17

In De Doelen on 12 December 2017, the Convention Bureau of Rotterdam Partners added ten new Rotterdam Knowledge Ambassadors to its network. The new ambassadors mainly work in the various knowledge institutes in the Rotterdam region, such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus MC and TU Delft. In the coming years, they will help promote Rotterdam as a conference city. They will actively use their ambassador role during knowledge exchange with other potential conference organisers.

Important economic value

Conferences make an important contribution to Rotterdam’s image as a high quality knowledge city and to business tourism. They are therefore very valuable to the urban economy and employment. Every year, thousands of conferences are organised worldwide in many different scientific fields and associations.

Knowledge and experience

The Rotterdam Knowledge Ambassadors are also experienced in attracting and/or organising a conference. Thanks to their knowledge and experience, they have good insight into the networks and conferences which suit the city’s knowledge spearheads: Medical & Life Sciences, Food, Transport & Logistics, Maritime and Cleantech. This knowledge helps Rotterdam Partners attract conferences to the city more effectively.

Celebrating partnership

The meeting of the ambassador’s network is taking place in De Doelen today. The new Ambassadors can start playing their ambassador role immediately. During a brainstorming session, they will be actively contributing ideas about the positioning of the city as a conference city. To celebrate the successful collaboration with the Knowledge Partners and Knowledge Ambassadors, this evening guests are being treated to a special Christmas concert performed by Sinfonia.
