International recognition for RISS with CIS and NEASC accreditations

01/30/19

The Rotterdam International Secondary School (RISS) has been re-accredited by the CIS (Council of International Schools) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). The two reaccreditations are an important recognition and accolade for the quality of the international  education at the RISS.

In order to get accreditation by the CIS and NEASC, schools are tested for quality, transparency and integrity. Only the best international schools can get accredited. The re-accreditation of the RISS can therefore be seen as an important international recognition of the quality of this Rotterdam educational institution.

The new accreditations were granted after an audit of the RISS by an international group of education professionals in November 2018, in which students were followed and talks were held with teachers and parents.

RISS

The RISS is a Rotterdam based international secondary school for pupils aged 12-19 years. The school follows the recognized International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and prepares its students for further education at university or college. The RISS offers its pupils English-language education while simultaneously bringing them in contact with Dutch language and culture.

The presence of good international schools is one of the determining factors for the appeal of cities for international companies and expats. The city and region of Rotterdam offers several top quality international schools and universities. More information about international education in Rotterdam is available on the website of Rotterdam Expat Centre.
