Boston Offshore Wind mission 18-19 October 2018

Goal & preliminary program

The goal of the visit to Boston is to get a deeper understanding of the US Offshore Wind market developments and to make valuable connections with important players in this area. The preliminary program includes:

• Round table meetings with insiders in the US Offshore wind ecosystem, such as the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (Mass CEC);
• Expert meetings about American law & regulations, such as the Jones Act;
• Visits to offshore wind facilities, such as the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal and the Wind Technology Testing Center in Boston;
• Visits to renowned knowledge institutions such as Tufts University School of Engineering and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT);
• Visits to renowned companies such as Ørsted, Eversource, Shell Tech Works and Deepwater Wind, the company behind Block Island Wind, US’ first offshore wind farm;
• Networking opportunities with US based cleantech startups at Greentown Labs, the largest Cleantech incubator of North America.

Prices

This mission is offered in combination with a joint visit to AWEA Offshore Windpower ‘18 Conference (16-17 Oct., Washington) that is being organized by HHWE (more information here) Depending on your preference, you can participate in the conference, the mission to Boston, or make a combination. Estimated rates are:

1. Conference with side program, organized by HHWE, in Washington: prices available here)
2. Boston Offshore Wind Mission: €500-700
3. Combi ticket: 20% discount on rates

A reduced rate for startups (with a kvk registration younger than 5 years) is under consideration with an estimated discount of 50% on the regular fees for a combi ticket.

Please note that all prices mentioned above are prices per person and exclude VAT, conference ticket, flight and hotel costs. We allow a maximum of 2 persons per company to participate in the Boston Wind mission.
