Mayor Aboutaleb of Rotterdam officially opened the new office of Webhelp in Rotterdam on Friday 29 June. Webhelp, originally a French business process outsourcer, has setup at the Delftse Poort building, adjacent to Rotterdam Central Station.

Next step in Customer Experiences

If you contact a company or governmental institution, chances are that you are actually talking to a Webhelp employee. Webhelp is responsible for designing and managing so-called Customer Experiences for many companies and brands of varying sizes. In the Netherlands alone, every day over 3,500 employees handle the questions, concerns and wishes of consumers via app, chat, e-mail or phone. Worldwide Webhelp employs around 40,000 people.

With a new, modern office in Rotterdam Webhelp is now active in 9 locations: Groningen, Enschede (2), Ede, Zoetermeer, Tilburg, Hilversum and Paramaribo. Webhelp chose Rotterdam for their new office with their eye on future growth and expansion. The Rotterdam location is home to app. 210 staff. The ambition is to double this number in 2019.

Asset to Rotterdam

One of the main motivations for Webhelp to set up in Rotterdam is the labour market. Finding and recruiting qualified staff can be challenging. Research has shown that Rotterdam has a ready supply of talented people who are looking for work. “The diversity of the city and its people, the rapid growth and dynamics that this all brings has attracted us to Rotterdam. This is an exciting city.” says Ronald van Schijndel, CEO Webhelp Nederland.

Webhelp is fully committed to attracting and keeping new employees. This has also been taken into consideration during the design phase for the new office in Rotterdam, which should be a place where people feel comfortable. Van Schijndel: “We are very happy with our office at Delftse Poort. We are right in the centre of the city and the accessibility is great. This building has an appeal that by far surpasses most of the standard office locations. Our work can be quite hectic and we feel it’s important that our working environment also offers inspiration and relaxation.”

In the search for their new office location, Webhelp was actively supported by Rotterdam Partners and InnovationQuarter. “We are very pleased with Wenhelp’s choice for Rotterdam and we’re proud that the company recognizes the many advantages our city offers.” says Jeroen Kuyper, managing director Rotterdam Partners. Both organisations work closely together in bringing international companies to the city and region. “Webhelp truly is an asset to Rotterdam. It is a fast growing company. Webhelp brings a lot of new jobs to the region.” Says Chris van Voorden, director Foreign Investments Innovation Quarter.
