About ss Rotterdam
Not just any ship
The Steamship Rotterdam is the largest ocean liner ever built in the Netherlands. As a former flagship of the Holland-America Line and cruise ship, the ss Rotterdam has sailed many oceans since 1959. The ship is now permanently moored in the Maashaven in Rotterdam, near Katendrecht. The history of the ship is clearly palpable on board. The 1950s interior and the many works of art were restored as much as possible to their former state and glory between 2005 and 2008. However, the hotel rooms, restaurants and other facilities fully meet today's requirements.
On board this former cruise ship there is a 4-star hotel, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. These can be recognized by the design style from the fifties, with original elements. In addition, there are 12 different authentic halls and 29 meeting rooms for meetings. The largest room 'Theatre' is suitable for a conference for up to 500 in theater style and a dinner for up to 400 people. By combining different rooms it is possible to organize conferences with more than 2,000 participants. The theater room has a height of 8 meters, any desired room setup can be realized on the floor. The Theater's balcony retains its original seating arrangement. The Theater has a stage of approximately 8.0 by 5.5 meters, equipped with a stage curtain. The ss Rotterdam is easily accessible by car or public transport.
