Our target groups and sectors
Rotterdam has garnered an incredible amount of praise in the past few years. Internationally and nationally, the city has a reputation for being edgy and innovative and as ‘the place to be’. Rotterdam is reaping the benefits of this positive image and is increasingly turning into a city where people want to be: to live, for a holiday for a conference or to run a business.
Rotterdam Partners dedicates itself every day to keeping things this way and to advance Rotterdam. Our aim is to engender more economic growth. To bring more business visitors and tourists to the city. To let Rotterdam grow as an attractive city to live in, where the residents are contented and proud, where people feel they have been cordially welcomed.
We are putting Rotterdam in the spotlight as an attractive place for companies to establish themselves, as an attractive destination for business visitors and tourists alike and as an attractive city for residents. We particularly home in on the target groups of companies and expats, residents, visitors and students. We are trying to present the city in an inspiring way, via all possible channels. In all our activities, we show Rotterdam as an international, entrepreneurial and “rough” city. The city that is global, pioneering and no-nonsense. A number of pillars are central to us: architecture, innovation, the port, culture, liveliness, living, talent and sport. For us, these are the building blocks that make Rotterdam what it is. What makes the city distinctive, and in which we have or are able to realize a unique offering with the city.
Also within the profiling of Rotterdam as business location, we are concentrating on those sectors in which Rotterdam is internationally strong and distinctive. Or where we as a city and region believe we have the greatest potential to grow. These economic priority sectors are: Maritime & Offshore, Life Sciences & Health, Agro-Food & Logistics, Clean Tech and Innovation. We collect and show inspiring examples of successful companies and demonstrate that there is room in Rotterdam for growth, innovation and experiments.
